The death toll in Bannu twin blasts has mounted to 15 including 9 policemen while over 30 police personnel have been injured Thursday, police source said.
A blast ripped through Bannu police line 2, one kilometer from Bannu central market that injured several policemen, police said.
The second blast occurred at the same site where rescue and relief activities were underway. It killed 15 people including 9 police personnel and injured over 30 others including DPO Bannu Iqbal Marwat.
DMS District Headquarters Hospital Bannu told Geo News that 5 bodies were brought to the facility out of which 9 were clad in police uniform. Other bodies also appear to be those of policemen in civvies, he added.
Dr. Hafeez said the condition of DPO Bannu is in critical condition and that medical treatment is being provided to him.
Curfew has been imposed in Bannu following the deadly blasts.
