Chitra (Genelia) is a school teacher who comes to Araku to teach school students. Krishna (arun) is an aspiring director who comes along with his team to make a movie at the same place. Soon, their paths meet and Krishna falls for her. However, there is a flashback for Chitra that is revealed later and to add to it, Chitra says she has witnessed a murder as well. Was it really true or a hallucination? What is the real ‘Katha’? All this forms the essence.

Artists Performance:
The bubbly beauty Genelia has given her best efforts to do justice to the film but then her role was not given that depth and portrayed correctly. However, her chirpy looks and cute smiles make up for the score. Telugu Movie Reviews

Arun Adit has shown confidence in front of the screen but then he is raw. There are a few things he has to work on like his expressions, posture, body language etc if he is looking at making a career in film industry.
Prakashraj has given another decent performance, though he plays a crucial role and a brief one, he made his presence felt whenever required. No complaints on that one.

The entire film revolves pretty much around Genelia so it must be said that the stand out act has been that of Raghu Babu who spreads good laughter with his witty dialogues and expressions. Shafi was not used to the fullest, Tulasi was standard and so was Jayalalitha, Ravikiran Babu was alright, C M Kalyan was usual, they were regular and contributed as required.

Final Analysis:

The film came out with an interesting concept but then it was caught between two genres – romance and thriller. That led to a lot of confusion and it must be said that there is a major flaw in the direction. The storyline was appealing but the narrative was very weak, presentation was good in many places. Dialogues were mild, the script lacked the spine, screenplay was erratic. Another flaw in the film is the background score which was overenthusiastic in every scene. To create an impact in a thriller, silence at the right time works best and themusic director is busy giving a sentimental tune which is a major turn off. Editing was not crisp. Songs were not good either barring one which was a bit melodious. Cinematography was professional and the locations were good in few scenes.

The film runs on a very slow pace and given the lack of depth in the plot, it is quite boring. While the first half revolves around the lighter elements, the second half tries to get serious and there are one or two scenes where the audience interest is engaged. But soon, it loses its grip and gets back to a monotonous tune. The lack of comedy is another drawback and despite the presence of highly talented stars like Prakashraj, Genelia, Shafi, the director could not pull a good one. There is nothing for the mass audience, family audience might come for Genelia but lose interest in no time, and youth don’t have much to talk about it either. The film is mostly ending up as a dud at the box office.

Ganesh expressed his wish to give something to my fans and thought it should be an entertaining movie with a good script, entertaining songs and some excellent camera work. Ganesh had initially never thought of producing until director Pritam Gubbi, approached him with a story and asked for his opinion on it. After consulting his wife Shilpa, Ganesh then decided to produce the movie under a home banner. Maleyali Jotheyali is a family entertainer with 70% of the shooting done in the rain. In fact Ganesh would sing the opening song of the movie as he fields his singing talent which he has harnessed during his orchestra days.

Maleyali Jotheyali: Like a light drizzle that soaks up your senses before you can know, this beautiful track from Harikrishna unravels its melody with an unhurried leisure. Vaani Harikrishna’s voice is mischievous and melodious at the same time. The repeat value of this song is such that you don’t mind listening to the same tune once again in Sonu Nigam’s silky voice.

Enu Helabeku: Although this song is tuneful, there are a couple of complaints that we have about this track. First, the CD cover shows utter disrespect to the female singer of the song as it does not mention her name on the cover. Of course sir, Sonu Nigam’s name is enough to lure the listeners; but show some respect to the female singers too! Our second complaint is that the track again looks ‘inspired’ from one more Hindi track!
Yaare Ninna Mummy: Harikrishna’s favorite pupil for peppy songs, Tippu, makes a noisy entry in this album with Priya Himesh, who gives a run for Tippu’s money in being bubbly and vivacious. Although this track seems to be a bit of a letdown, you may still like it when you see it.

AVM – Vikraman combination will conjure visions of a great family entertainer but Priyamana Thozhi is highly melodramatic and over-the-top movie with no logic. It is a candyfloss sob story of friendship between a boy and girl, which degenerates into mush and melodrama.

Vikraman has made a mess as he has ventured into an unknown territory of exploring friendship between two childhood friends, which he should have left the Karan Johar’s to examine. Added to this there is hardly any originality as every scene, dialogues, background score, jokes, climax and even music are all rehashed from various films including Vikraman’s earlier works.watch the movie trailer

If you are still dying to know about this friendship tale, please leave your brains behind as the story goes like this- Ashok (Madhavan) is a happy-go-lucky guy, who is an aspiring cricketer dreaming of playing for India! His best friend from childhood Julie (Sridevi), is his biggest supporter. Ashok and Julie share a very special bond and they share all secrets under the sun. But nobody at Ashok’s palatial house thinks much of him including his elder brother (Livingston) and family. Ashok starts a small video shop with his friends (Ramesh Kanna and Kumaresan) with the financial help of Julie. Soon Julie’s father dies and Ashok brings her to his house, which his family does not approve initially, but Julie wins them all over. They ask Ashok to marry Julie but both of them claim that they are best friends and not lovers!

Now Ashok meets a rich girl Nandhini (Jyothika) and it is love at first sight. They get married and now three of them live under the same roof! Meanwhile Ashok’s bat speaks for itself in Ranji Trophy matches where he scores century after century for Tamilnadu and is on the verge of being selected for the Indian team!! But his archrival and Julie’s lover Michael (Vineeth) comes into reckoning as his father makes a demand that Ashok should back out of the Indian team and give his place to his son (BCCI selectors, are you listening?). For the sake of Julie, our master-blaster (Krish Srikanth appears for 30 seconds as the coach) not only agrees but also packs his kit and leaves for Mumbai! In an utterly hackneyed and clumsy climax at the railway station the lead pair go through predictable motions as misunderstandings are sorted out and Ashok plays for the country and hits the wining six!!!!
Vikraman has stretched a story beyond credibility as he employs all the cinematic clichés seen in 60’s and 70’s tearjerkers and has subjected his audience to as much torture as possible. Of course Madhavan has flashes of brilliance- but is terribly let down by the script. Jyothika’s role has not been etched out as she looks helpless most of the time and is there for three songs shot in exotic foreign locales. If there is something nice about Priyamana Thozhi, it is Sridevi as Julie who looks like a dream, with her controlled and understated performance and steals the show.

Tenderness Movie Review :
'Tenderness' was first recommended to me by a close friend who I normally trust as far as judgment in film. However, when I learned the director, JohnPolson , was responsible for such films as 'Swimfan' and 'Hide & Seek', I had my doubts... As the movie progressed I found myself reassured by some emotionally provoking cinematography, strong performances, and an intriguing story. This film obviously is not comparable toPolson's previous flawed films. No, 'Tenderness' is actually substantial proof that Polson does have some talent in his bones after all.



After several years of juvenile incarceration for the horrific murders of his parents, Eric Poole (Jon Foster) is released back into the world amidst much controversy. While dealing with his wife's terminal condition, Retired Detective Cristofuoro (Russell Crowe) keeps close watch on Eric after his release waiting for him to slip up. Shortly after returning to his Aunt's home, Eric sets off to Albany to look at colleges. Suspecting that there is more to the trip that Eric is letting on, Eric's Aunt Teresa (Laura Dern) notifies the Detective of the trip. Fueled by an obsession by a seemingly chance encounter with Eric before the murders, a young and immature teen, Lori (Sophie Traub), forces a second encounter and finds herself accompanying Eric on his journey all while both searching for their own version oftenderness.

Morris:A Life with Bells On Hollywood Movie Review :

Great movie, hilarious,especially if you are an Anglophile. The actors do great characterizations. The scenes are well shot, especially those depicting California. The movie was well accepted by the Morris dance and folk-dance community at the Seattle Folklife festival and the Seattle International Film Festival.

We need to see more Morris dancing like that done by the OCM. If you enjoy folk dance you must see this film. If you enjoy England you must see this film. If you enjoy laughing you must see this film.This film is a mocumentery in the tradition of This Is SpinalTap, and A Mighty Wind. This is all filler, the movie was shot in the wettest summer in england, on a low budget. The film makers did wonders in poor conditions and with little to work with.

I couldn't quite make out if some of the characters in this story actually exist, although it seems some did, or the Morris group does...? It would be nice to be sure.



The mocumentary is masterly. So very funny. Packed with irony. It wasn't given a full showing at our cinema, it wasn't shown at the best times and we have 3 screens. A great shame as it deserved a much wider showing. If there's a problem with audiences, it could be thatMorris dancing isn't all that much seen in England, these days. In my London youth, I only ever saw it once, and that was during a university festival when they had some folk dancing in a large open space in the city. I really didn't know what to make of it. It was only when we moved to the West Country that I realised it was still pursued in some places. I guess it has a name with those who haven't seen it of being a bit strange with all those handkerchiefs and bells, so the cinema, even here in the West Country, thought it wouldn't get an audience.

I imagine it wasn't well publicised. A great shame. It's just the sort of hilarious movie most English people are inclined to like so why's the movie being so coy? Sterling performances from everyone, with a special mention for the deadpan "interviewer", the aggrievedMorris dancing hero and his mates, the Beach Boys type Los Angeles group wonderfully sending themselves up, and Derek Jacobi brilliant as always, this time as the insufferably pompous Morris association officer.If you want a good laugh and to see some romantic English countryside and old customs, don't miss this!

I attended the London movie premiere for this on Tuesday and there is always one BIG PROBLEM about premieres... if the movie is bad you can't leave. I realised very early on in this movie that I had a BIG PROBLEM
.


Getting through this movie and hearing other people chuckle politely at the jokes just so as not to offend SJP and HG made the atmosphere unbearable. The storyline was terrible, the dialogue was predictable and the characters were as if plucked straight from other movies: HG was Charles from 'Four Weddings', Sam Elliot was Virgil from 'Tombstone',Mary Steenburgen was Clara from ' Back to the Future 3' and SJP was Paula from 'Failure to Launch'... and you spend the entire movie thinking about how much better all of those other movies were!

When this ended, I thought to myself "Why has this been made at all?" and then it dawned upon me... MARKETING PLOY. SJP has SATC 2 coming out next year and needs to get back into the public eye just before that and HG needs to help his Ex (Liz) raise awareness for her charity. This movie will get them some column inches in magazine and some exposure on the Internet. It makes perfect sense now...

In a small town in the countryside, Georgia Kaminski is a fifteen year-old girl with Friedreich's ataxia, a genetic disease that causes progressive damage to the nervous system resulting in clumsy movements, speech problems heading to heart disease. While in a flea market selling goods with her grandmother Marg, Georgia meets the shy twenty-years old Beagle Kimbrough, who works in the cafeteria of her school and is the son of the local butcher Easy. Beagle spent the last years taking care of his ill mother while Easy and Marg have secretly been lovers for many years. Georgia feels that she will have few years of life and decides to lose her virginity with the sensitive Beagle. Meanwhile, Easy's older son Guy returns from New York for the funeral of his mother and seeks out the hairdresser Stephanie, who was his fiancée that he left behind when he moved to New York chasing the dream of becoming a successful musician. The Cake Eaters Hollywood Movie Review :
The Cake Eaters" is so subtle a story and pleasing a film you won't notice how great it is until it is over. Much credit is due to Jayce Bartok, the screenwriter, as well as,Mary Stuart Masterson , the director, to fulfill the hearts of its characters while filling the souls of the audience. "Eaters" sweet subtleties meet heavy hearts touching on such powerful subjects as love, death, secrecy, adultery, disability, virginity, abandonment, and rebellion. With each character involved in one or more relationships: father/son, mother/daughter, grandmother/granddaughter, brothers; love: new, old, rekindled, exes; they are pulled apart at the seams, some almost to a breaking point, only to be shown how close they are.



At the heart of the story, in between all the eaters of cake, is Georgia, a young woman "living" with a rare genetic disorder that affects her mobility but not her spirit. Georgia is played wonderfully and with grace by Kristen Stewart ("Into the Wild"). Her performance is at the center of this story and is worthy of any if not all accolades (Oscar?). You find yourself so enmeshed in her ability to convince, that she makes "TheCake Eaters" truly magnificent.

As up-state New York sets the tone for the story it throws you back in time, maybe the 70's, while staying in the present. The film opens with footage of old home movies and settles nicely in a gray, rainy, folk art town, where everyone knows your name. And it sure seems nice to have been a part of it.
